There are varying levels of support in schools. Sometimes students require additional support beyond what their school or other referral agencies are able to provide. This is not a failing on the part of a school but an indication that a student’s emotional and psychological needs may exceed the abilities and training of staff who work with them. Some schools use external agencies for counselling but waiting lists for these services can be as long as 6 months.

Our Counselling4Schools programme is designed to support students who are facing challenges in both their personal and school life. The programme aims to assist students in working through difficulties that may be having a negative impact on their lives.

Research has shown that providing a forum for young people to overcome their difficulties helps to improve attendance at school, reduce the risk of exclusion, develop relationships and increase lesson engagement.

We also work closely with staff with school staff and parents/guardians to further support students in their growth.
